Сruise missiles hit Kyiv as UN Secretary-General visits Ukraine

Two explosions were heard in the center of Kyiv on Thursday evening, April 28, 2022.

“In the evening, the enemy fired on Kyiv. There were two hits on the Shevchenkivskyi district. All services are at the scene,” Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko wrote on Telegram.

As a result of a Russian missile hitting an apartment building in the Shevchenkivskyi district, one person died, ten people were injured. As Radio Svoboda reported, the victim is a Ukrainian journalist, Radio Svoboda producer Vira Hyrych.

“Russia stroke Kyiv with cruise missiles right when UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Bulgarian PM Kiril Petkov visit our capital. By this heinous act of barbarism, Russia demonstrates once again its attitude towards Ukraine, Europe, and the world,” Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said.
