10-year-old Veronica from Borodianka, Kyiv region, visits the ruins of her house every day to feed stray cats; UNICEF tells her story. The girl lost her home after it was destroyed by a Russian airstrike.
“There, on the ninth floor, where you can see a brown door, was where my room used to be. But the bomb ruined everything. If the wind blows, we can find the remains of our things nearby sometimes,” said the girl. Now, Veronica and her parents live together in a single room in social housing. The girl dreams of having her home again and bringing one of the cats into her family.
