14 cafes and restaurants in Kyiv produce 12,000 servings of hot food daily for the army and civilian defense

They could have just stopped operating but decided to help instead. Restaurants and cafes of Kyiv united to supply the defenders of Kyiv with hot food and bread.

The owner of one restaurant Slava Balbek explains that during the first days everyone got stunned. But later, people from the team who did not leave Kyiv decided to be useful for their city in the best way they could – to feed people.

“We understand that there is a risk that Kyiv may be bombed. But we can’t stop. There is no way. There are people waiting for our help, and we have to feed them,” says the coordinator of one volunteer center on the territory of Doubler restaurant.
