1,450 Ukrainian POWs freed since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war in Ukraine

Ukraine has secured the release of hundreds of prisoners of war since Russia invaded the country on February 24, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during an annual address to Ukrainian Parliament on Dec. 28, 2022.
Zelenskyy put the total of freed POWs at 1,456.
“The goal of renewing the territorial integrity of Ukraine goes hand in hand for us with the goal of freeing all Ukrainians who are held in Russian captivity or in prisons, as well as all those who were forcibly deported from our land,” he added.
