20-year-old Ukrainian foil fencer Alina Poloziuk won bronze at the International Fencing Federation Grand Prix in the women’s foil event in Turin.

It is the first medal in such competitions in Ukraine’s history.

It was the debut of the Ukrainian athlete. In November 2022, Poloziuk became the champion of Ukraine in foil for the first time in her career. However, she had no success at international tournaments of the Grand Prix and World Cup levels — until the event in Turin, where she rewrote the history of Ukraine, becoming its prize-winner, Suspilne Sport reports.
