37 countries have already adopted the “Books without borders” project

The “Books Without Borders” project is already active in 37 countries with a total of 44,000 books on 170 shelves, First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska announced on Telegram on World Book Day on Apr. 23, 2023. The First Lady asserts that Ukrainian books are suffering alongside people as a result of the Russian invasion: “At the London Book Fair, which has just taken place in the UK, we showed furniture and items from destroyed libraries. The attitude to culture most clearly shows the essence of the aggressor.” “But books are not just victims,” Ukraine’s First Lady said, “They, like the entire Ukrainian culture, are our support. I often heard the touching ‘Finally, our native book, in our native language!’ from the participants of the international project “Books Without Borders.”
