71% of Germans, French, Poles and Italians support Ukraine’s accession to the EU

This public opinion survey was held by The Jean-Jaurès Foundation and Yalta European Strategy in Germany, France, Italy and Poland. It shows prevailing public support for Ukraine’s EU membership.

The highest level of support of Ukraine’s accession to the EU is in the Eastern Europe, in Poland. The rate in this country is 91%. The level of support was the lowest in France, but even there it is high – 62% of citizens support the accession. In Germany, support for accession is significantly higher, with 69% in favour of Ukraine’s EU membership. Italy has shown 71% in support of accession.

Also, the survey shows the attitude of these four countries residents to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Vladimir Putin, Russia, sanctions against Moscow, and the supply of military equipment to Ukraine.
