8-year-old boy plays chess with passers-by to collect money for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Eight-year-old Savelii moved from Bucha to Lutsk. He has been practicing chess for four years. To help the Ukrainian army, he plays chess with passers-by for money. He sets up a table on the central street of Lutsk and waits for his opponents. Savelii says there is no fixed price for the game. People leave as much as they can.

The boy’s mother and grandfather support him in this kind of volunteering. The boy’s grandfather, Oleksandr Kupchynskyi, says that he used to beat his grandson at chess, but not now.
