80% of Donetsk region residents have fled
Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, said about 80% of the Donetsk region’s pre-war population has now been evacuated.
“As of February 24, 2022, 1,670,000 people permanently lived in the Ukraine-controlled territory of the Donetsk region. About 340,000 people or 20% of the local population before Russia’s full-scale invasion remain,” Kyrylenko said during the national telethon, Ukrinform reports.
Donetsk region in the east of Ukraine has been the focus of intensive Russian attacks in recent weeks.
