99% of exhumed bodies from the mass burial site in Izium had signs of violent death

On September 16, 2022, law enforcers started the exhumation of bodies of civilians and soldiers found in a forest strip in Izium, Kharkiv region. 99% of exhumed bodies had signs of violent death, Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, said.

“Among the bodies that were exhumed today, 99% showed signs of violent death. There are several bodies with their hands tied behind their backs, and one person was buried with a rope around his neck. Obviously, these people were tortured and executed,” he told journalists.
