A ballet dancer of the National Opera of Ukraine died as a result of shelling

On February 26, 2022, 43-year-old Artem Datsyshyn was fired upon by the Russian military. He was wounded and died in hospital. Artem was from Kherson. Critique described his performance style as ‘academic expressiveness, romantic sublimity, psychological depth.’ Artem Datsyshyn was a laureate of the international competition of Serhiy Lifar (1996) and Rudolf Nuriev (1998).
