A delegation of Czech ministers visited Kyiv despite Russian attacks

On October 31, 2022, while Russia was attacking Ukrainian cities, a ministerial delegation led by Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Petr Fiala, arrived in Kyiv on a visit.

Representatives of the Czech government visited buildings destroyed by recent Russian bombings, met with Ukrainian officials, and a joint meeting of the two governments was held. As a result of the meeting, the parties stressed the importance of investigating Russia’s war crimes, supported the initiative to establish a Special Tribunal for crimes of aggression committed against Ukraine, and called on the international community to sustain and increase sanctions pressure on Russia.

“I consider it completely automatic that the Czech Republic will continue to provide humanitarian and military aid to Ukraine. It is in the interest of the whole world that we continue to provide military equipment so that the Ukrainians can continue to fight bravely and effectively defend themselves against the Russian aggressor,” said Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala.
