A dog named Nicole helps to evacuate people from the dangerous regions of Ukraine by train and entertains them on a long journey
The dog has already done more than a dozen evacuation rides. Nicole lives in a compartment with conductors. There she has a place to rest and everything she needs.
Nicole is always the first to jump into the car and check if it is ready for the ride. She communicates with the passengers and loves to entertain children on the long journey from war to safe places. Train staff says that during evacuation rides the dog seems to feel which of the passengers needs her support the most. Sometimes she doesn’t leave the person for hours — as if he wants to alleviate the pain.
Four years ago train conductor Tetiana Minkova found Nicole on the railway station almost frozen to death. She saved the dog, and after unsuccessful attempts to find her a family, Tetiana finally decided to keep Nicole. After the war has started, she had to take the dog with her on the train rides, as there was no one to stay with the dog at home.
