About 5 million Ukrainians returned home from the EU

About 5 million of the 8 million Ukrainians who arrived in the countries of the European Union since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion have returned to Ukraine, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said at a joint press conference with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“More than eight million Ukrainians have arrived in the countries of the European Union since the beginning of the war. But there is good news from both sides. Many, many Ukrainians have already returned home. So about five million have already returned to Ukraine. It shows the most important thing. Of course, we want to give as much support as possible to our Ukrainian friends who need help. But we also know that they want to return home again, build Ukraine and turn it into a prosperous state,” she said.
