Actors from the bombed-out Mariupol Drama Theater performed at the international festival in Poland

The Mariupol Drama Theater actors performed at the International Festival in Krakow, Poland, Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration Pavlo Kyrylenko reported.

“This year, the theaters of Ukraine, Poland, and Hungary took part in the festival. Our country was represented by 15 theaters, including the Mariupol theater. Although the city is under occupation and the building of the theater was destroyed by Russian insidious airstrike, the troupe of the Mariupol Drama Theater has already resumed its work in Uzhgorod and now represents the cultural center of the Azov region on the international stage,” wrote Kyrylenko.

At the festival, actors of Mariupol presented the drama “Cry of the Nation,” a poignant play about Ukrainian writer Vasyl Stus repressed by the Soviet authorities.
