“After almost one year of the war, Ukraine is not forgotten”

President of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen has arrived in Kyiv for a visit on Feb. 1, 2023.
“Arrived in Kyiv. After almost one year of war, Ukraine is not forgotten. Together with President Zelensky and the brave people of Ukraine – we stand for European values,” Van der Bellen posted on Twitter.
Van der Bellen traveled to Bucha to pay respects at the mass grave discovered there after Russian forces retreated from occupying the city in the Kyiv region in the early stages of the war.
He also said that the Austrian delegation brought a specific aid package to Ukraine, “in particular, urgently needed generators.”
“Yes, Austria is committed to military neutrality. But our position is by no means neutral. Ukrainians are fighting for their country and the future of their children, and we help them in this,” the Austrian president emphasized.
