Alla Horska’s mosaics were destroyed in Mariupol in Russian shelling

In Mariupol, now temporarily occupied by Russian troops, mosaic masterpieces by Ukrainian artist Alla Horska were destroyed by shelling. Ivan Stanislavskyi, a journalist from Mariupol, wrote about this on Facebook and published photos of the damaged mosaics.
“The Mariupol masterpieces of Alla Horska ruined… Timeless in terms of plot, aesthetically perfect, and deprived of any socialist realism concepts, these two works of Alla Horska were the pearls of the Mariupol collection of monumental art,” wrote Stanislavskyi.
Alla Horska was a Ukrainian artist of the 1960s, monumental artist, one of the first representatives of the underground art movement, dissident, and human rights activist of the Sixtiers movement in Ukraine. She was killed at the age of 41 on November 28, 1970.
