American Air Force veteran sleeps outdoors to raise awareness of ways Americans can help Ukrainians this winter

American Air Force veteran and former Congressional candidate Mark J. Lindquist is sleeping outside in a tent to raise money and supplies for Ukraine, which is struggling with constant Russian attacks, including attacks on its energy infrastructure that leave Ukrainians without heat and power.

“I am choosing to spend Christmas sleeping outside in Fargo, ND. My buddies in Ukraine didn’t choose this,” Lindquist wrote on Twitter.

He told the Daily Caller that while Americans certainly have their own problems to deal with, it only takes a small amount of time or money to make a significant impact for people who are, in most cases, struggling more.

Lindquist was in Ukraine earlier this year and helped to funnel aid from the rest of the world to Ukraine.

His “Operation: Sleep Out” will last till Jan. 1, 2023.
