Approximately 24,000 Ukrainian citizens currently held captive in Russia

According to the Unified Register of Missing Persons, there are roughly 24,000 civilian captives in Russia. This was reported by Human Rights Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Lubinets during a meeting with relatives of POWs and missing military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, and other formations from the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. Lubinets said the Unified Register of Missing Persons became operational on May 2, 2023.
