Approximately 30-40 thousand tons of grain crops were destroyed because of Russian shelling in the Zaporizhzhia region, as stated in an interview by Oleksandr Starukh, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.

“Since July 1, 2022, grain crops on 1,561.63 hectares have been damaged by fire in 15 agricultural enterprises in Zaporizhzhia region due to shelling and arson, and in 13 agricultural enterprises on 8,132 hectares in the Polohy district.” In total, 9,693.63 hectares of land are damaged. It’s quite a big number. Approximately 30,000-40,000 tons of grain. This issue alone is estimated to cost 340 million hryvnias. The last time Ukrainian fields were burned like this was during the German Nazi invasion. Now Russian Nazis are burning them,” he said.
