As a result of the Russian attacks, at least 116 buildings of spiritual significance have already been destroyed

Aggressive attacks by Russian troops destroy Christian churches and other shrines in Ukraine’s religious communities. According to the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience, at least 116 buildings of spiritual significance (excluding adjacent buildings) in at least 13 regions of Ukraine have been destroyed since February 24, 2022: Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhia, Luhansk, Lviv, Lviv Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv.

The vast majority (91 out of 116) are Orthodox churches. Mosques, synagogues, Catholic and Protestant churches, religious schools, and administrative buildings of religious organizations were also destroyed.
