Back in a fight against Russia: Crimean film director, previously imprisoned by Russian authorities for more than five years, is now defending Kyiv with the weapon
“I learned to build a dugout and live in the trenches, mastered the machine gun and grenade launcher,…” says Oleh Sentsov, who has been defending Kyiv frontline in the ranks of territorial defense since the beginning of the war.
The Crimean film director became famous when he was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment by Russian authorities in 2014 after Crimea was occupied by Russia. An artificial prosecution process took place when, in fact, everyone knew that the reason for the sentence was expressing a clear pro-Ukrainian stance.
Enormous efforts were made to release Oleh. After that, he even managed to make a movie “Rhino.” Now he is fighting against Russia again with a weapon in his hands.
