Be brave, like Boris. Be brave, like Ukraine

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson made a surprise visit to Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv. He met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and pledged to send an additional 120 armoured vehicles and new anti-ship missile systems to Ukraine. The Prime Minister also confirmed the UK would guarantee a further £500 million in World Bank lending to Ukraine, subject to parliamentary approval.
In a statement released after the visit, Boris Johnson said, “It is because of President Zelenskyy’s resolute leadership and the invincible heroism and courage of the Ukrainian people that Putin’s monstrous aims are being thwarted.”
After the meeting, Zelenskyy and Johnson walked through the war-torn Ukrainian capital. Boris Johnson became the first G7 leader that arrived in Ukraine since the beginning of the large-scale war.
“We are strengthening our union of democracies. Be brave, like Boris. Be brave, like Ukraine,” the Ukrainian Defence Ministry tweeted.
