Boris Johnson promised that the UK to keep helping Ukraine as he announced his resignation

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced his resignation as Conservative Party leader on July 7, 2022, but vowed to stay on as prime minister until a replacement is chosen. Several lawmakers have urged him to resign immediately, as much of his Conservative Party has turned against him.

Boris Johnson said he would stay on the job until a new leader is in place. Despite his resignation, he promised the UK would continue to help Ukraine. “We in the UK will continue to back your fight for freedom for as long as it takes,” he said.
