“Britain can be home for Ukrainians as long as they need”

Prince Edward and his wife Sophie met with members of the Ukrainian community at Edinburgh’s City Chambers to mark one year since the city’s formal response to the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
“I hope you can all try to make Scotland and Britain your home for as long you feel that you need to stay here and we will try to make it as welcoming and as safe as possible for you,” HRH Prince Edward said.
He added: “I also want to express my thanks to everybody who has worked so hard to make our Ukrainian friends so welcome.”
