Britain to give six undersea minehunter drones to Ukraine to make grain shipments safer

Britain’s defense ministry said on August 27, 2022, that it was giving six underwater drones to Ukraine to help clear its coastline of mines and make grain shipments safer.

Over the coming months, Ukrainian personnel will be taught to use the autonomous minehunting vehicles by the Royal Navy and US partners, with some already commencing their training.

The lightweight autonomous vehicles can be used in shallow coastal environments and are designed to operate at depths of up to 100 meters to detect, locate, and identify mines through a series of sensors.
