Cambodia to send one the world’s most experienced teams of deminers to Ukraine
Cambodia will send deminers to help train Ukrainians in clearing land mines planted by Russian forces, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen stated during the call with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The first team of specialists will arrive in December 2022. The next one is planned to be sent in the first quarter of 2023.
Cambodia became one of the world’s most heavily mined countries during almost three decades of war that ended in 1998. Therefore, Cambodian deminers have become among the world’s most experienced.
