Complete demining of Ukraine may take more than 5 years
Complete mine clearance in Ukraine may take more than five years, Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denys Monastyrskyi told Ukrainian television on Jan. 12, 2023.
“More than 30% of the territory of Ukraine is currently polluted. According to international indicators, the intensity of pollution is the highest since World War II,” stated Monastyrskyi.
He added that pyrotechnicians of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service pass about 40 hectares per day through the such territory.
