“Crime carries consequences. Crimes against humanity should carry great consequences. We owe this to Bucha, to those who died, who were displaced.”

President of Moldova Maia Sandu, together with leaders of Slovenia, Croatia, Slovakia, and the Ukrainian President visited the town of Bucha on March 31, 2023, to commemorate those killed during the Russian occupation last year.

“Democratic states must work together to ensure that these atrocities are investigated and punished. We must signal to the world that violence would not be tolerated in Ukraine or anywhere else. The crime carries consequences. Crimes against humanity should carry great consequences. We owe this to Bucha, to those who died, who were displaced,” Sandu said during her speech.
