Damien Hirst’s work on Ukraine will be presented at the Venice Biennale 2022
The work of the famous artist Damien Hirst, dedicated to Ukraine, will be shown at the Venice Biennale. “Sky Over Corn Field” will be part of the Ukrainian exhibition “This is Ukraine: Defending Freedom.” This exhibition is a joint project of the PinchukArtCentre, the Office of the President of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.
“Today in Ukraine the war for her freedom continues. In response to discrediting statements about its cultural and historical roots, our intention, which prompts the format of our presence at La Biennale di Venezia this year, is to say the opposite. We present the works of contemporary Ukrainian artists, as well as contextualize Ukrainian history and culture with the support of international artists,” commented the organizers of the Ukrainian exhibition.
