Decision to stop issuing visas to Russian nationals must be made at the EU level

During the meeting with his Lithuanian counterpart, the Prime Minister of Latvia said that as Russia continues its brutal war against its neighbor for the sixth month, it is necessary to decide at the level of the European Union to stop issuing Schengen tourist visas to Russian citizens and thereby strengthen the sanctions against Russia.

Discussing the current situation in energy, the Prime Ministers of Latvia and Lithuania emphasized the need to strengthen energy independence from Russian energy resources while ensuring the necessary natural gas supplies to the region in the upcoming heating season.
