Dozens of famous locations around the world went dark in solidarity with Ukraine

Over 90 iconic locations worldwide joined the #LightUpUkraine initiative and turned off their lights on the evening of Dec. 21, 2022, in solidarity with Ukraine. The buildings of European Union institutions and NATO, as well as landmarks of dozens of countries, went dark to show their support.

The campaign, supported by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry and the United24 fundraising platform, aims to raise $10 million for 1000 generators to power hospitals this winter.

Millions of Ukrainians face a winter of blackouts as Russia’s missiles and drones constantly destroy Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
