Environmental damage in Ukraine caused by Russia’s invasion is estimated at around €36 billion

Russian invaders caused €36 billion worth of damage to Ukraineʼs ecology, stated Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine, Ruslan Strilets, at the hearings in the European Parliament.
Air pollution caused by war is estimated at approximately €25 billion, and another €11.4 billion is needed to eliminate the damage caused to the soil.
Ukrainian Minister also mentioned that 79 million tons of greenhouse emissions could still be produced during the restoration of infrastructure and buildings destroyed by Russia.
