Estonia and Latvia recognized Russia’s aggression in Ukraine as genocide

Parliaments of Estonia and Latvia, on April 21, 2022, unanimously adopted a statement on Russian aggression and war crimes in Ukraine, acknowledging that Russia is currently committing genocide against the Ukrainian people.
In the statement, Latvian MPs refer to extensive evidence of brutal mass crimes committed by the Russian army: killings, torture, sexual abuse, and desecration of Ukrainian civilians, including women and children in Bucha, Irpin, Mariupol, and elsewhere.
According to the statement passed by the Estonian parliament, it has been ascertained that in the war of aggression waged by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, systematic and massive war crimes have been committed against the Ukrainian nation by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
