Estonia bans entry to Russian citizens with Estonian-issued visas

The Estonian government decided to ban Russians with Estonian-issued Schengen visas from entering the country. The rule will enter into effect on August 18.

“I call on other governments to follow such steps,” wrote Estonian Minister of Foreign Affairs Urmas Reinsalu on Twitter.

The decision will not affect Russian citizens with visas issued by other EU members, Russian citizens whose homeland is Estonia, or who are permanent residents of the country.
