EU agreed on 8th package of sanctions against Russia

The European Union agreed on the eighth package of sanctions against Russia, reported the European Commission on October 6, 2022.

The package introduces new EU import bans worth €7 billion to curb Russia’s revenues.

It includes a ban on the import of Russian steel products, machinery and appliances, plastics, vehicles, textiles, footwear, leather, ceramics, certain chemical products, and non-gold jewelry.

Also, additional individuals and entities have been sanctioned — particularly those involved in Russia’s occupation, illegal annexation, and sham ‘referenda’ in the occupied territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
