EU allocates €100 million for reconstruction of 74 Ukrainian schools

The European Commission allocates €100 million for the reconstruction of Ukrainian schools, the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said in her State of the European Union address.

“So today I am announcing that we will work with the First Lady to support the rehabilitation of damaged Ukrainian schools. And that is why we will provide 100 million euros. Because the future of Ukraine begins in its schools,” she said.

“Usually, the Address sums up the results of the year for the European Union and outlines the prospects. Today, the most important results and prospects highlight our country, its resistance to Russian aggression, and the European support that has been and will be provided,” First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska said on Telegram after the announcement of the 2022 State of the Union Address by European Commission President von der Leyen. Zelenska noted that she became the first foreign guest of the European Parliament at such an event.
