EU created an expert group on the restoration of Ukraine’s cultural heritage

The European Union formed an expert committee to develop a system for preserving and restoring Ukrainian cultural heritage.
Head of the methodology sector of Integrated Approach to Security and Peace Directorate of the European Service of Foreign Affairs, Vasile Rotaru, announced this at the conference “Crime against cultural heritage — in wartime and postwar times” in Lviv, according to Ukrinform’s correspondent.

“We are now focusing on long-term measures, realizing that we must prepare for the rebuilding of Ukraine following the war.” An expert group of 25 individuals, including representatives from EU countries and Ukraine, was recently constituted in the European Union. They exchange restoration approaches and provide recommendations to the European Commission on how to best create the process of cultural heritage restoration in Ukraine,” Rotaru said.
