EU reiterates its firm commitment to holding to account all perpetrators and accomplices of war crimes committed in connection with Russia’s war
The EU has pledged to hold those responsible for war crimes in Ukraine to account, EU Spokesperson for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Nabila Massrali, told journalists. — CNN reports.
“The EU reiterates its firm commitment to holding to account all perpetrators and accomplices of war crimes committed in connection with Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine,” Massrali said.
The statement is in response to two videos released on social media which purport to show beheaded Ukrainian soldiers. “If confirmed, this is yet another brutal reminder about the inhumane nature of the Russian aggression. Killing prisoners of war is a very serious breach of the Geneva Convention and demonstrates once more Russia’s complete disregard of international law, in particular, international humanitarian law,” Maasrali stated.
