EU to allocate €10 million to support Ukrainian education

The European Union to allocate €10 million to support Ukrainian schoolchildren and students.

“Every war is a war against children. With the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, we mark the start of the school year in Kyiv with a sense of determination. Starting today, the EU is devoting €10 million to help provide safe physical learning spaces and support Ukraine’s distance learning program,” said Vice President of the European Commission, Margaritis Schinas, on Twitter.

According to Ukrinform, Schinas added that Europe would also provide absolutely all the necessary support in medical evacuation and provide for the needs of Ukrainian patients staying in EU countries.

The EU will also mobilize €5 million to preserve the cultural heritage of Ukraine, said Margaritis Schinas. «Culture is not just collateral damage but a deliberate target of Russian aggression The EU will mobilise an additional €5m for cultural heritage preservation», wrote the Vice-President on Twitter.
