European countries expelled dozens of Russian officials

Four European countries said on March 29, 2022, that they kicked out more than 40 Russian officials over national-security threats, citing spying and influence operations as reasons.
Belgian Foreign Minister Sophie Wilmes said the government had decided to expel 21 people working for the Russian embassy and consulate, who have been identified as taking part “in spying and influence operations menacing national security.” The Dutch government said it was kicking out 17 Russian officials, Ireland said it was expelling four senior Russian officials.
