Every day, two children die in Ukraine as a result of Russian military aggression — First Lady of Ukraine

During an online speech commemorating the tenth anniversary of the Aspen Institute’s founding in Central Europe Ukraine’s First Lady, Olena Zelenska, stated that many people have said that it was difficult to even read the news about Ukraine during the nearly four months of Russian aggression.
“I understand these feelings. It’s difficult for any normal person with empathy to learn every day how rockets flew into someone’s home, right into a room, killing a family. The shot convoy with the inscription ‘Children’ is difficult to read. It’s hard to believe that two children die every day in Ukraine. It’s difficult to look at photos of destroyed cities, homes with abysses instead of windows, and people, injured by mines and shelling, in hospitals. Ukrainians struggle not just for their home, but for the values clear for everyone — life and freedom.”
