Every eighth Ukrainian has lost a job due to the war but has already started working again — poll
More and more citizens of Ukraine who lost their jobs due to hostilities were returning to their jobs, according to results of the nationwide poll conducted by the Rating sociological group.
Among those who had a job before the war, 58% continued to work. In March 2022, there were only 46% of such people. So 12% of the working population (or every eighth Ukrainian) lost their jobs due to hostilities but have already resumed working. But over 40% of Ukrainians have lost their jobs and still haven’t been able to start working again.
Most of those who now work is in the western regions, while only a third of the inhabitants in the east of Ukraine have a job.
Some 20% of Ukrainians had to change their place of residence. A third of those who left home plan to return soo; a quarter will wait a little longer. About 40% express their readiness to return, but only after the end of the war.
