Every third victim in the Kyiv region is from Bucha. The town is working on identifying the victims
The collection and exhumation of the bodies of citizens killed by the Russian invaders are coming to an end in the territory of Bucha, Kyiv region, which was liberated from Russian troops in early April 2022. Mayor of Bucha Anatolii Fedoruk notified on Facebook:
“We are about to end an important and complex process in Bucha — the collection and exhumation of the bodies of the dead in the Bucha community. The number we have today is 412. But this will be clarified by investigators and experts working 24/7. This means that every third victim in the Kyiv region is from Bucha.”
According to Fedoruk, the main task he has now set for the city facility services is to identify everyone. There is an information center near the morgue to help relatives find, identify and bury their loved ones. There is also a call center, and volunteers at the Centre for Administrative Services provide information by phone: +380683282892.
The Mayor says that the Bucha City Council provides the necessary facilities to all the families of the victims, both in Bucha and in the community.
