Exhumation of bodies from mass graves in Izium will last for two weeks

Exhumation of the bodies of people who died during the Russian occupation in Izium will continue for two more weeks, stated Izium Mayor Valerii Marchenko on September 18, 2022.

“The work will continue because there are many graves. No new burial sites have yet been found in Izium, but there is information that they exist. The search is ongoing,” said the mayor of Izium.

On September 16, 2022, a mass burial site with more than 440 bodies was found in the recently liberated Izium in Kharkiv region.
