Family from Cherkasy prepares tens of thousands of meals for Ukrainian defenders
The family of Yevhen Kompanets from Cherkasy have already prepared 85,000 varenyky, pies, and pancakes, minced lard with garlic, canned food, and borscht sets for Ukrainian defenders, Suspilne reports.
Yevhen Kompanets, who is in a wheelchair, says he started volunteering thanks to his daughter. She wanted to help the less mobile population with food and — later, the military, so the family started preparing food.
The family prepares food and gives it to volunteers. “Where it goes, there it goes. It doesn’t matter whether it will be for air defense, for miners, or for artillerymen. All the defenders are ours,” Yevhen told Suspilne.
