FC Hansa bought a medal of Ukrainian footballer Danylo Sikan at auction for $32,000 to support Ukraine

Ukrainian footballer Danylo Sikan exposed his gold medal for the 2019 World Championship as a part of the World Sports For Ukraine charity auction. It is organized by sports media Tribuna.com, the volunteer organization Ukraine Alive 2022, and the Belarusian Foundation for Sports Solidarity. All proceeds will be spent on the needs of the Ukrainian army and refugees.

Many Hansa fans contacted the club with a desire to buy the lot together with opening their account for that. They collected $32,000 and bought a medal. Hansa will ask Sikan to keep the medal or put it up at the club museum.

The German “Hansa” (Rostock), for which the Ukrainian plays, opened the collection among the fans to redeem the award. More than $21,000 has already been collected, Ukrinform reports.
