Films by Ukrainian directors Nadiya Parfan and Roman Liubyi were selected for Berlinale 2023 competition

The short film “It’s a Date” by Ukrainian director Nadiya Parfan was included in the competition program of the Berlin Film Festival. The short film about Kyiv during the war will head for the Berlinale Shorts competition and two awards: Golden Bear for Best Short Film and Silver Bear Jury Prize for Short Film. In total, 20 films were selected for this program.
In addition to Nadiya Parfan’s film, the Ukrainian documentary “Iron Butterflies,” directed by Roman Liubyi, was selected for Berlinale 2023. It will be presented in the Panorama section. The film conveys the circumstances of the shooting down the Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 by Russia in the skies over Donbas in the summer of 2014.
The Berlin Film Festival will take place in the German capital on Feb. 16-26, 2023.
