Finland to limit or completely stop the entry of Russian tourists

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland Pekka Haavisto said that his country is working on a federal strategy to “limit or completely prevent” tourism from Russia following the invasion of Ukraine. “This national solution may include new legislation, which would be adopted very quickly,” Pekka Haavisto told a press conference.
Meanwhile, traffic arriving at Finland’s eastern border with Russia “intensified” during the night after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced an immediate partial mobilization of Russian citizens. Reuters reports that the Finnish border guard’s head of international affairs, Matti Pitkaniitty, said: “The number clearly has picked up.”
