Finnish city of Turku shows solidarity with Ukraine with 24-hour display of Ukrainian flag

The Ukrainian flag has been hoisted on nine flag poles above the banks of the Aurajoki River in Turku. They will remain up around the clock until further notice to show support for Ukraine, Yle reports.
The first flag was raised on the morning of October 25, 2022, by Turku Mayor Minna Arve. Normally, those poles are used to fly the city’s branded flag and, periodically or on request, other flags for events, organizations, and other instances, according to Yle.
“Strong sign of solidarity and support for Ukraine and Ukrainians from the city of Turku. We sincerely appreciate and respect your help since the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion!” Ukrainian Embassy in Finland wrote on Twitter.
